Going Blue for Drowning Prevention
Every year on 25 July, Aotearoa New Zealand joins the world in marking World Drowning Prevention Day. Drowning is a leading cause of accidental death in our country. With our strong connection to water, from beaches and rivers to pools and lakes, it’s crucial that we all take steps to stay safe. Drowning is preventable, and small actions can save lives. This year, get involved by Going Blue for Drowning Prevention, wearing blue to start conversations and learning how to Float first. Together, we can prevent drowning.
