Huddle Sample

Forming a good huddle is the most effective way to stay warm in a survival situation. It can limit the cold water movement around the group. Everyone remains still with bodies touching, which helps to stay warm. Talking to others helps to reassure and keep spirits high.

  1. Huddle together with maximum body (chest) contact with minimum water in the middle.
  2. Stay still and talk to each other.
  3. Move colder people from the outside in to the middle.
  4. Repeat with one group making rough water.
